The College is sad to announce the death, on Sunday 21st February, of Mrs Sylvia Williams, Retired Senior Member, aged 75 years. Mrs Williams started work at the College in 1964 as a member of the academic staff. In 1990 she was appointed Acting Deputy Principal, and also served on the Board of Trustees as a Staff Trustee from 1990 to her retirement in 1992. Following her retirement, Mrs Williams continued to work for the College through her involvement with the INSET Department, and the College’s Centre for Overseas Development of Education [CODE]. Details of funeral arrangements will follow shortly.

The College is pleased to announce that Dr Jenny Bryan, Junior Research Fellow, has been appointed to the post of Lecturer in Classical Philosophy in the Department of Greek and Latin, University College London, commencing October 2010.
There will be a concert by Ensemble CB3 on Friday 7 May 2010 at 7.30pm in the Fitzwilliam College Auditorium. The concert will be conducted by Dr John Hopkins and will include works by Claude Debussy, John Hopkins, Kaija Saariaho, Toru Takemitsu and a world premier of Lliam Paterson's Portraits for Piano Trio. Elizabeth Fletcher grew up in York. She was a Homerton student studying Theology at Cambridge between 2002 and 2005. She was sporty and enjoyed cycling and running. She also loved poetry and had some of her poems published. Elizabeth was tragically killed in a motor accident in 2006. She was the mother of a young child.
