Homerton College is delighted to welcome the following new Fellows in the Academical Year 2009/2010:
Dr Peter Raby, Former Vice-Principal, has been pre-elected to an Emeritus Fellowship.
Dr Alessio Ciulli, Junior Research Fellow in Chemistry, has been awarded a David Phillips Fellowship by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. The Fellowship is given to support the UK's most promising early career researchers.
Dr Kate Pretty, Principal of Homerton College, has been awarded a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to Higher Education. Kate has been Principal of Homerton College since 1991. Prior to Homerton she was a Fellow at Murray Edwards holding various posts including Director of Studies, Tutor, Admissions Tutor and Senior Tutor. Kate is an active archaeologist specialising in the early medieval period and is President of the Council for British Archaeology. Kate is one of the University's Pro-Vice Chancellors, responsible for international strategy as well as overseeing the work of the University's museums and libraries.
The College is delighted to announce the following appointments:
Professor John Gray, Fellow and Professor of Education, elected as College Vice-Principal.
Mr Luke Shepherd, elected as President of the Homerton Union of Students for 2009/2010.
Mr Peter Farah, elected as President of the Middle Common Room for 2009/2010.
