Campus Manager
During the first 3 weeks of term in October 2008 we anticipate in excess of 600 student room network registrations to be processed by the Homerton College I.T. Department. A high proportion of these machines will have viruses, worms and/or spyware infections which will quickly spread across the Student Room Network possibly disabling the service for existing users.
During this initial time period the Homerton College I.T Department Helpdesk will handle a large number of calls relating to infected computers — the majority of which will need to be investigated further by I.T. staff.
Introduction
To ensure stability, security and most importantly continual service Homerton College has invested in a network solution from Khipu Networks, known as 'Bradford Campus Manager (BCM)'. See Opening screen below :

Campus Manager enables the I.T. Department to check computers connected to ResNet for vulnerabilities before they can gain full access to the Student Room Internet service. If a device is found to be vulnerable, then the system will inform the user that they have a problem with their computer and show them how to fix it. Simple procedures and guides are provided within Campus Manager allowing the user to fix their computer with one or two mouse clicks in order to meet the requirements for joining on to the network. Once the computer has satisfied all the necessary requirements the user is then granted full access to the student bedroom network and access to all the associated benefits.
The Campus Manager is a proven product with over 750,000 computers being managed within 190 University and College environments. The system will enable us to ensure that students benefit from a faster connection process, and a more reliable service.
