Things To Look Out For to Help Yourself

Most connection issues can be resolved by either following the many guides available on this site or by contacting the IT Department in the ways detailed opposite.

However, experience tells us that if a computer is well kept and maintained on a regular basis it limits the need for interaction from the support department.

  • Keep your Operating System clean by deleting unwanted temp files on a regular basis
  • Defragment your hard disc at least once a month
  • Limit the number of programs installed that do the same thing
  • Keep your software upto date with the latest patches
  • Keep Tidy: Make folders to store your downloads
  • Leave space on your hard disc for the Operating System Swap Files
  • Backup your data
