Cathy Smith, a Bye-Fellow of Homerton College and Director of Studies in Mathematics, is the recipient of the Janet Duffin Award 2010 for her paper 'Choosing more mathematics: happiness through work?' *1
This award is made annually by the Society for the most outstanding contribution published in Research in Mathematics Education during the calendar year. The award is funded through a generous gift made to British Society for Research into Learning Mathematics by the late Bill Duffin, in memory of his wife Janet, a longstanding and active member of the Society.
A lecture to accompany this paper is currently being organised and details will be made available soon.
