The University City of Cambridge has many attractions, both in the city itself and in the surrounding area. Whether you want exciting night life, the relaxing atmosphere of one of Cambridge's many parks, or the fascination of a first class museum, it's all here. There's a small but packed shopping centre, a wide range of pubs and restaurants, including one of Europe's biggest pubs, The Regal, and a central market selling a variety of items. We highly recommend you visit the historic city centre and the 'Backs'! Ideally, take a punt trip along the River Cam to view the Colleges, including the famous King's College Chapel. Cambridge has many museums, the Fitzwilliam and three other University museums having national standing, as well as a host of other smaller museums.
Within easy travelling distance of Cambridge is Ely, famous for its Cathedral, Newmarket, home of horse racing and Duxford Imperial War Museum.
Close by are the National Trust properties of Wimpole Hall and Anglesey Abbey. It's also only 50 minutes by train from London, and you can usually get a special deal of a day return for around £10, with a free underground travel pass!
