Help with Health Care Costs
Some students are eligible for help with health costs on the grounds of low income (not just because you are a student). If you qualify for support, you can apply by completing a HC1 form. You will then receive help towards the costs of NHS prescriptions, NHS dental care, sight tests, glasses and contact lenses.
You can get a HC1 form from the college nurse, or from your GP surgery or dentist.

Travel Information
The College Nurse, Sandy Chambers uses electronic nursing records, in line with other nursing disciplines. Records are stored on a database containing demographic data, student health information and consultation records.
The software, database and server are housed in an external confidential “data centre” used exclusively by the providing company and offering healthcare industry standard data security. The College Nurse, Sandy Chambers has sole access to the nursing records within College and University by means of a two layer unique login and password system. The company supplying the license to use the database is registered with the Data Protection Registrar as is the college.
Electronic records are used to ensure that College Nurse record keeping is consistent, auditable and secure; this will help to promote consistently high standards of service provision. Electronic records also help to manage an efficient response during outbreaks of infectious illnesses such as mumps, for example or in situations where it is necessary to highlight students with particular health needs such as anaphylaxis.
Students have the right to view their nursing records and correct any information where necessary, by contacting the College Nurse .
If you wish to withhold consent to electronic records , at any time, please see Sandy Chambers the College Nurse so that she can discuss and record your decision and revert to paper records.
