Course Title Asian and Middle Eastern StudiesDirector of Studies
Nadira Auty Available Places 4-6 This is a broad ranging course that includes the opportunity to study the language, culture, history and politics of the Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian speaking world, or of China or Japan. A thorough and intense learning of the relevant languages provides a key to discovering these exciting cultures. Homerton has taken significant numbers for this relatively small ‘tripos’, across all of the disciplines that make it up- though our own Director of Studies is a specialist in Arabic. |

Juliana Cavalcanti Available Places 10 Our course provides a sound understanding of core, pure and applied economics. However, while you study economics in considerable depth in this specialised degree, you'll employ ideas and techniques from many other disciplines too - these include history, sociology, mathematics and statistics, and politics. Therefore, our graduates are extremely well-qualified for a wide range of jobs and further courses. At Homerton we take up to 10 students each year. |

Liz DuignanDavid Whitley Abigail Rokison Available Places 25 Education is a joint honours course in which Education is combined with one of: Biology, Classics, English, English with Drama, Geography, History, Physical Natural Sciences (physics or chemistry), Theology and Religious Studies. At Homerton, as well as an Education Director of Studies, Dr Duignan, who looks after the Education content of the tripos and overall those who take the subject with Biology, Classics, Geography, History, Chemistry, Physics and Theology, we also have specific Directors of Study in Education with English and Education with English and Drama. Liz Duignan is an educationalist, David Whitley a specialist in literature (including children's literature) and film, and Abigail Rokison is a drama specialist with particular academic interest in Shakespeare and contemporary drama in theory and practice. |

Michelle OyenNeville Dean Theo Hacking Available Places 14 In the first two years all students study general engineering topics that will be useful for all later specialisms. In years 3 and 4 there is a wide range of special engineering options available. Study for these often includes project work and leads after 4 years to the M.Eng degree. Dr Oyen directs studies for the first year, Dr Dean the 2nd year, and Dr Hacking all third and fourth year Engineering options and both years of students taking the Manufacturing Engineering tripos. |

David Clifford; Louise Joy Available Places 12 Homerton has a strong record in English and we take 10-12 students each year to study the subject. Our Directors of Study can offer research knowledge in 18th century fiction, Romantic writing, science and literature, writing and childhood, 19th century fiction, the contemporary novel. Other Fellows working with literature can add Modernism, film studies, dramatic literature and many more elements of this rich subject. |

Dr Fikfak is a college lecturer in Law, a specialist in International Law, and directs studies for Part IA of the Law tripos. |

Course Title MusicDirector of Studies
John HopkinsDaniel Trocme-Latter Available Places 3-4 Homerton College admits three or four undergraduates each year to read for the Music Tripos. John Hopkins is one of the Director of Studies in this subject, and is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Music. His main areas of expertise are in composition, analysis, and in 20th century and contemporary music (including jazz). Daniel Trocmé-Latter is our other Director of Studies, and is also Director of Music at Homerton. His research interests include the role of music in liturgy and ceremony, especially in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Daniel also teaches a variety of undergraduate modules, including practical musicianship (aural and keyboard skills), analysis, tonal composition, and music history courses. |

Richard Jennings Available Places 2 Homerton normally takes two philosophers each year. In your first year you will study two required subjects in philosophy. Your Director of Studies will arrange supervisions throughout your three years of study and will normally supervise you in at least two of your first year subjects. |

Gonzalo Urcelay Available Places 4 Psychology is a course in which all aspects of our thinking about the brain and the mind can be explored. Bringing together social and experimental psychology this course enables the study of an ever richer field combining cognitive, behavioural, and neurological approaches to the human mind. |
