DO YOU GRADUATE THIS YEAR AND INTENDTO DO A CAMBRIDGE PGCE IN SEPTEMBER, 2012?
Homerton Retired Senior Members Association is offering at least one, and possibly two, Charter Bursaries for Teacher Education of at least £250 each to current third year student members of Homerton College:
- Who will graduate at the end of this academical year and have been accepted on the one-year University of Cambridge PGCE Programme for next year.
- Who are considered by the Award Panel to have best identified an educational experience, to be undertaken before the commencement of the PGCE Programme, which will help to develop their classroom teaching competence
Applications must be received by Noon on the 1ST APRIL, 2012 and must take the form of a letter, addressed to Professor John Murrell, MBE, Chairman of Homerton RSMA, Homerton College, Cambridge CB2 8PH, giving full details of:
- The nature of the experience and identifying clearly its relevance to the improvement of their competence in the teaching of children in schools
- The way in which the Bursary will be spent and accounted for.
Applications must be supported by a letter from the applicant's Homerton Tutor. If necessary, applicants may be asked to attend an informal interview with the Award Committee.
The successful applicant(s) will submit a written evaluation of the experience, which should be received by Professor Murrell by the end of the second week in September and he, or she, may also be invited to give a brief presentation about the experience to members of the RSMA at their Annual General Meeting on 22nd September, 2012.
