Graduation

Any member of Homerton College who has fulfilled the appropriate examination and residence requirements may proceed at Congregation.  The Congregation of the Regent House is one of the oldest traditions in the University and its origins go back nearly 800 years.

Congregations are held throughout the year.  The Congregation held in late June/early July is known as General Admission, when most undergraduates proceed to their first Degree at the end of their final term.

If you are not able to attend in person, you may proceed 'in absence', when your name will be read out and the certificate sent to you after the ceremony.  Alternatively, you may choose to attend a later Congregation. A degree is not officially awarded until it has been conferred on you either in person or in absence at a Congregation of the Regent House.  Your degree certificate will be issued only after the degree has been conferred.

Homerton will not put forward anyone for graduation who has not settled their College and University bills.

MA degree
In January, the Tutorial Office, on behalf of the Praelector, will contact all those who become eligible in the Lent Term with details and information on how to apply.  Unfortuanetly candidates are not, as yet, able to apply on line.  It is therefor, essential that you keep the College updated with any changes of name or address.    If you think you are eligible but have not been contacted, or if you took your BA many years ago and decide you now need the MA, please contact Charlotte Jenner either by telephone or email as below:
Telephone 01223 747201,  email caj24@cam.ac.uk.

General Admissions
Application to proceed at General Admissions is via Camsis.  A link to this can be found on the General Admission page. Eligible undergraduates will be notified via email when the CamSIS pages are available to book on line.

Higher Degrees
PhD, MPhil, MBA, EMBA: Graduation is not automatic and you must formally apply for the ceremony of your choice once your degree has been approved.

MEd
Eligible MEd students will automatically be invited to attend the ceremony on 28th April 2012.  Graduands who wish to receive their degree in their absence, or who are unable to attend in person in April, are advised to contact Tanya Cunningham, Graduate Administrator.

If you have any queries please contact the Tutorial Office.  For General Admission and MA Congregations contact Charlotte Jenner and for Higher Degrees contact Tanya Cunningham.
