Open Days 2017

You are here

We'd be delighted to see you. This is the best way to find out more about the College, and we welcome visits from all potential applicants. The ideal way to do this is to come to one of our Open Days, when you will be able to meet the Admissions Staff and current Homerton students. We're happy for these to be attended by individuals or by groups from schools and colleges. Details of our Open Days can be found below.

If you are unable to attend one of the Open Days, but would like to visit the College, arrangements can be made for you to come to see us at other times; please do get in touch. We are also always pleased to visit schools in response to invitation, when we can meet teachers and groups of potential applicants.

Homerton's students are also very willing to answer any enquiries you may have about the college from a student's perspective. The Homerton Union of Students (HUS) has its own website and one of its officers will respond to email enquiries sent to hus-academic@homerton.cam.ac.uk.

Booking a Place

Open Days in 2017 will take place as follows:

College Open Day: Saturday, 29th April – Mathematics only (10.45am - 4.40pm)

Booking (at least two weeks in advance) is essential for this event.  Please use the link on the right of this page to complete an online booking form and find out more.  We will confirm bookings by email and further details will be sent to visitors approximately two weeks before the event.

Cambridge Open Days:  Thursday, 6th July and Friday, 7th July – All subjects (9am - 5pm)

Our own Open Days on Thursday, 6th July and Friday 7th July will work in tandem with the Cambridge Open Days. Homerton is just a 10 minute walk from the railway station and so a great place to start your visit to Cambridge. A ‘Cambridge Explained’ talk will be offered during the early part of the morning to give an overview of the University and the application process (as given centrally at various sites as part of the Cambridge Open Days). For those wanting to find out more about Homerton, there is then the opportunity to stay and take a guided tour with some of our current students and the chance to chat to an Admissions Tutor. We will also offer a Q&A session for parents and supporters with our Senior Tutor. This still leaves time for taking advantage of all that the Cambridge Open Days have to offer during the afternoon including sample lectures, demonstrations, Faculty/Department tours and time to drop in to other colleges should you wish to.

Whilst it isn’t essential to book to visit Homerton, we ask that those wishing to attend our talks on Thursday, 6th July or Friday, 7th July complete an online booking to assist with our planning for the events.   Any visitor wishing to make the most of their visit to Cambridge by taking part in the Cambridge Open Days must book online via the Cambridge Admissions Office. The booking system will be available from April 2017 here: http://www.study.cam.ac.uk/undergraduate/events/opendays/cambridge/.

For more detailed information and to book for one of our talks, please select the link on the right of this page.

College Open Day: Saturday 9th September – All subjects (9am - 5pm)

During our September Open Day, visitors will have the chance to attend a ‘Cambridge Explained’ talk to find out more about the University and the application process. Our current students will be on hand to offer guided tours of the college and our Admissions Tutors will be available throughout the day to answer your questions.  We will also offer a Q&A session for parents and supporters on the day.

Whilst it isn’t essential to book to visit Homerton in September, we ask that those wishing to attend our talks complete an online booking to assist with our planning for the event. For more detailed information, please select the link on the right of this page.
