Homerton employs a full-time Schools Liaison Officer, Eve Sergeant. Eve attended Wymondham High Academy in Norfolk, and graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in History in June 2019. One of the first in her family to attend university, during her time as a student at Jesus College she worked at numerous events to raise aspirations for under-represented students, mainly as part of the College's Outreach Ambassador Programme.
Eve is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with schools and colleges and encouraging students from different backgrounds to consider applying to Homerton, or more generally to the University. She works with students from Years 7-13 and runs events that focus on the benefits of Higher Education, attending a top institution such as Cambridge or raising aspirations more generally. Although our "in-person" events have been temporarily been halted due to the pandemic, Eve can run "replacement" webinars for state-maintained schools and colleges in Homerton’s Link Areas. If you are a teacher or HE Advisor, please register your interest for Eve to run a bespoke webinar for your school here.
Eve also coordinates and runs the tri-annual Homerton College Access Course – a nine-week programme of weekly themed webinars and interactive workshops guiding state-educated students through the Cambridge application process.
Eve works closely with our Admissions Tutors, academics and student-helpers, through collaborative webinars, subject-specific support sessions and student-helper Q&A panels and tours.
