Donating to Homerton is an opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of our students. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are able to support students in financial need, helping each of them to make the most of their time at Homerton.
Every gift has an impact, and we are grateful to everyone who chooses to give.
Our current priorities
Student support: enabling us to provide hardship grants so living expenses don't become unmanageable, as well as academic support such as bursaries for both undergraduate and graduate students, funding for internships, and access to counselling when necessary.
The student experience: removing the financial barriers to participating in sport, music, theatre, dance, rowing (through the Stephenson Fund) and many other interests.
Homerton Changemakers: meeting the running costs of our unique personal development programme to equip our students to make a difference in the world.
We can accept donations made online or by cheque, made payable to the Homerton College Appeal Fund. You may also give by credit or debit card by phoning 01223 747280 during office hours. Alternatively, please send a completed Donation Form (see downloads on the right hand side of this page) to: Development Office, Homerton College, Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 8PH.
A regular gift
If you're able to commit to giving a fixed amount, however small, on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, it allows us to plan for the future. If you would like to make a regular donation and you have a UK bank account, please complete the Direct Debit instruction on the Donation Form (see downloads on the right hand side of this page) and return it to: Development Office, Homerton College, Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 8PH.
If you would prefer to set up a Standing Order, please contact us in the Development Office.
Leaving a legacy
For many people, leaving a legacy in their Will allows them to give at a higher level than might be possible in their lifetime. Legacies have helped to fund teaching at Homerton for over 200 years, and we are enormously grateful when people choose to remember the College in this way.
You can find further details on how to leave a legacy, and how this will benefit Homerton in our Legacy Brochure.
To make a Gift Aid Donation, please complete the Gift Aid section of the Donation Form (see downloads on the right hand side of this page) or make a Gift Aid declaration over the phone. If you have given in the past, we may already hold a Gift Aid declaration for you.
Gifts by US residents
US residents can make tax-deductible gifts through Cambridge in America (CAm). Information on the various ways of doing this is available on their website.
Under law, charities are not permitted to refund donations, other than in specific circumstances. The Charities Act 2011 is the relevant legislation.
However, if you need to speak to us about a refund, please contact us within seven days of making the donation, either by email or by telephone on 01223 747280, and we will be glad to discuss the case. If the provisions of charity law are satisfied, and the donation is returnable, we will refund the donation within seven days of receiving the written information we will request from you.
Homerton is committed to responsible fundraising. For more details please see our Fundraising Promise in the downloads of this page.
