Join artists, academics and activists to explore portals to collective liberation through love politics, visionary storytelling and cultural worldbuilding across community and academia. This Film Screening forms part of the Love, Creativity and Abolition in and Beyond Academia event. will close with a celebration of live and digital multi-disciplinary art, activism and affective abolitionist affinities in community partnerships.
The film screening will present original short films from Poetic Unity, a London-based charity founded by Ryan J. Matthews-Robinson and championed by George the Poet. After the screening, there will be a panel conversation with the artists and scholars Ryan J. Matthews-Robinson aka Ragz-CV, Princess Arinola Adegbite aka P.A. BITEZ, and Adèle Oliver chaired by Noella Binda Niati, Assistant Professor of Education and International Development, University of Cambridge.
Live Performances will follow from transdisciplinary artist ewa nïara and performance poet Bhumika Billa, and Princess Arinola Adegbite will premier a new poem, The Future is Diaspora, inspired by a Poetic Unity workshop held at Homerton College.
An Open Mic invite will follow to celebrate live and digital multi-disciplinary art, activism and affective abolitionist affinities in community partnerships.

Poetic Unity has harnessed poetry as protest and worldbuilding at the intersections of racial, environmental and social justice, nurturing the talent of thousands of Black and marginalised young people across areas of education, mental health and employment. Founded in 2015, Poetic Unity has provided hundreds of programmes and events every year for the community with 1,141 services provided to 40,000+ young people to date.
