Black Town & Black Gown
Join us for a film screening of Black Town and Black Gown, a production that explores the historical legacy of Black presence in Cambridge, featuring personal stories from scholars and residents.
This will be followed by a thought-provoking discussion with the award-winning TV presenter and journalist Ashley John-Baptiste; leading Cambridge city councillor Dr Cllr Antionette Nestor; the President of Cambridge African Caribbean Society Nmesoma Kamalu; and the creative director and co-producer of Black Town & Black Gown, Maya McFarlane and Seetha Tan. The panel is chaired by Lester Holloway, Head of Communications at Homerton College.
The screening and discussion is free and open to everyone, from students, staff and academics to Cambridge residents.
