We look forward to welcoming participants to the second Homerton College 'Holding Space: Taking Action' symposium on gender, power and culture in March 2025, where we will explore a range of topics addressing harassment and creating safe spaces in Higher Education.

Submit a research poster for this year's symposium

The programme for this year's event is being finalised and we are now pleased to invite submissions for a research poster presentation session, which will take place in the evening on the first day of the symposium, Thursday, 20th of March, at 17.30 in the Great Hall. If your research is in the areas explored by the symposium, please use the dedicated webform to submit your abstract. 

Submissions are welcome (and encouraged!) from non-Homerton students and academics so please feel free to share with friends! 

Holding Space: Taking Action 2024

Our inaugural symposium in April 2024 included:

  • A roundtable on Addressing harassment and creating safe spaces in Higher Education, with Dr Helen Demetriou (Chair, Homerton); Victoria Jones (HVSS); Norah Al-Ani (Rape Crisis); Ocean Cook (ARU);
  • Student-led discussion tables highlighting Diverse voices;
  • Dr Aoife Quinn (Addenbrooke's) in conversation with Dr Francesca Moore (Homerton) on Gender, power, and culture.
