Applications for the 2024 Future Ready Programme are open. To apply, complete this form by 9am on Monday 8th January 2024.

Future Ready! is a virtual study skills and university preparation programme delivered by Homerton College aimed at students in Year 10/ S3, who are looking to push their study-skills and explore what it's like to think and learn like a university student. 

The course consists of twice weekly virtual workshops from on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6pm from 4th to 27th March 2024, along with a 1-to-1 support session in the week beginning 1st April, and a Celebration event at Homerton College at the end of April!

Students will get to create their own university style essay on this year's topic: Is knowledge dangerous? 

In the meantime, you will develop your critical thinking and essay writing skills, preparing you for your GCSEs/Highers... and for university!

The course includes: 

  • introduction to university and post-16 choices
  • study skills and critical thinking workshops
  • essay writing workshops
  • mentoring for producing your own essay
  • a Q&A with current Homerton students & more!

We will also end the programme with an in-person celebration event at Homerton College ! 

And... THERE WILL BE PRIZES!

To apply, you must be:

  • in Year 10/ S3 in a state school in the UK
  • interested in producing your own essay

As places are limited, priority will be given to students who:

  • are care experienced/ young carer
  • are/ have been eligible for Free School Meals
  • have a disability/circumstances which affected study
  • have a home postcode classified as IMD deciles 1-2 and/or POLAR4 classification 1-2
  • attend a state school in one of Homerton's Link Areas of Scotland, Buckinghamshire, West London or South Yorkshire
