The College has a Student Health Advisor
Sandy Chambers BSc RGN has 30 years’ experience working in first contact care as a Nurse Practitioner and also has previous experience working in Out of Hours urgent care settings.
She is a Registered general nurse with a MCGI Higher Level Practice award, BSc Health Studies Degree (Nurse Practitioner) and a Nurse Practitioner Diploma. She also has a Solution Focussed Therapy Foundation Certificate and a Basic Counselling Skills certificate. She is a Mental Health First Aider and has the First Aid At Work qualification. Sandy has just completed Level 2 understand Mental Health, Problems certificate course and Level 3 Understanding Mental Health Care certificate
Sandy is also an experienced triage nurse.
Health Advisor services
Sandy offers a confidential service (see link for confidentiality/information sharing statement) She is able to help with a wide variety of medical and mental health needs, as well as responding to emerging mental health crises. Sandy is able to refer and signpost to NHS services and can refer to college and university resources.
The Health centre is situated on the Ground Floor of West House. Sandy can see you either on person in the health centre or remotely on zoom, teams or What’s App. For in person appointments the college health centre will continue to follow the NHS guidance on infection prevention and control for seasonal respiratory infections for health and social care settings.
The student health advisor will wear a face covering and other personal protective equipment appropriate to the activity being conducted.

If you cannot find a suitable appointment, please email the Student Health Advisor on nurse@homerton.cam.ac.uk as she may be able to find you an alternative appointment.
