New Fellows Sworn-In - December 2025

TWO NEW Fellows were sworn-in this week, in a ceremony presided over by the Principal, Lord Simon Woolley, and Vice Principal, Dr Francesca Moore.

Associate Fellow: Dr Michelle Darlington

Dr James Higham 

Dr James Higham

Dr James Higham is a Director of Studies, Undergraduate Tutor and CTO.

James is a neurophysiologist and pharmacologist, with a specialist interest in tackling pain in inflammatory diseases, such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, and he is passionate about identifying novel targets for pain-killers.

Prior to joining Cambridge, James studied and worked at the University of Bristol. During his time there, his research focused on understanding the cellular underpinnings of behavioural defects in Alzheimer's disease.

Dr Michelle Darlington

Dr Michelle Darlington

Dr Michelle Darlington is Head of Knowledge Transfer at the Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation, where she is responsible for developing and communicating good practice in the field of social innovation. This includes translation of research outputs for non-academic audiences, curating and delivering academic and practitioner events, and designing blended learning material.

Michelle is also a co-founder of the Thinking Through Drawing project, an educational research network, professional development provider and consultancy, which specialises in visual approaches to learning and research.
