About Homerton Changemakers

Changemakers is unique to Homerton

We began teaching in September 2019, turning a two-page document approved by College Council into a living, breathing, exciting programme that inspires people & equips them for actual changemaking.

Between 2019 and now over 800 Homerton students have been part of Changemaker programmes; we've taught 15500 student hours; developed a network of 200 world-class people who support, teach and mentor students; hosted more than 75 events; supported 9 start-ups; and developed a reputation for being innovative, humane, and intellectually courageous. We work with colleagues around the world to refine our work and advance ideas of progressive, future-reading education; and are part of global conversations on how Universities can step up into the pressing, urgent challenge of our time: educating whole people as well as academic performers.

You might be wondering why we're called Changemakers. 

It’s because of the core principles of the programme. We help you build your insight and skills so you can be part of creating a more just, regenerative and sustainable world, connecting your academic work to your lifework, if you like. To be the change you want to see.
