Helen Andre Cripps
Head Gardener
Before joining the College in 2018, Helen had a very eclectic career, including veterinary nursing and logistical operations within the British Antarctic Survey. She started gardening professionally over ten years ago. In that time she has gained varied experience at an organic farm, a garden centre, an alpine nursery and three other Cambridge Colleges (Trinity Hall, King’s, Wolfson).
Chris Thurgood
Gardener
Chris joined Homerton in July 2019 and is our resident conifer and moth expert.
Lola Panozzo Zenere
Gardener
Lola has worked within the department since 2020 and has passed her RHS Level 2 theory exams this year (2022).
Chris Hooks
Gardener
Chris completed his gardening apprenticeship at Downing College before joining Homerton in January 2021.
Jonathan Davies
Assistant Gardener
Jonathan has been at Homerton since 1979, which means he has been mowing the College lawns for 43 years.
Jason Causton
Gardener
Jason joined us in 2022 and brings a wealth of experience. He has been a gardener for many years, previously working at Newnham and Downing Colleges.
