Reverend Nell Whiscombe

Nell is Assistant Curate at St John the Evangelist, Hills Road, Cambridge, and works with the Vicar, Rev’d James Shakespeare, and the Charter Choir to facilitate the Charter Choir services at St John’s.  Nell studied Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at Clare College, Cambridge, and spent ten years working in publishing before returning to the University in 2019 to train for ordained ministry in the Church of England.  In 2022, she completed her MPhil in Theology at Corpus Christi College, focusing on credal statements and syncretic faith in the early church.  She is a member of Ely Diocesan Synod and has a particular interest in chaplaincy, working with local schools and colleges as part of her work at St John’s.  Nell is also a Foundation Governor at Cherry Hinton Church of England Primary School.
