Background

Peter trained as a Physiotherapist at the University of East Anglia. He has worked clinically at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 2010. From 2011 to 2013 Peter combined his clinical work with studying for an MSc in Clinical Research Methodology. Peter studied for his PhD in Public Health and Primary Care at Homerton College, Cambridge from 2017 to 2021, funded by a Dunhill Medical Trust Research Training Fellowship. He now works as a Clinical Academic Physiotherapist in stroke rehabilitation. 

Research Interests

Peter’s current work is primarily focused on improving rehabilitation outcomes for adults admitted to hospital with a stroke. His research interests also include hospital-associated deconditioning, ageing, frailty, physical activity and exercise interventions. He is a Visiting Researcher at Trinity College Dublin.
