Homerton researchers undertake cutting-edge work in academic fields from Anthropology to Zoology and everything in between. Students and academics alike benefit from this rich interdisciplinary environment.
Research by members of the College makes a significant and meaningful impact within society. Homerton researchers are active in diverse fields, including researching antimicrobial resistance, healthcare improvement, socioeconomic barriers to skills acquisition, and the development of language learning. We want to bring to Homerton some of the biggest conversations in global society, from decolonising the curriculum to decarbonising the planet. And to contribute to those conversations, too.
Homerton is committed to funding and producing world-class research, and we value the relationships between academia, practice, and activism. We also hope to build partnerships with stakeholders in different sectors, to open Cambridge research up to the wider community, and engage in co-producing knowledge.
With a vibrant research community that generates internationally important work across, between and beyond the range of traditional academic disciplines, the College regularly organises events that showcase our work.
We commit to supporting the research of our members (both research students and academics) through small grants for research materials and travel, and by facilitating applications for larger grants from external organisations. The College continues to appoint promising early-career researchers to Junior Research Fellowships, enabling their career development and connections to the College community, and we run a College Research Associate programme.
Homerton is proud to support the Centre for Research in Children's Literature at Cambridge.
