Dear Homertonians,

A warm welcome back and very best wishes for an excellent term ahead. The weather might be somewhat uncertain (there is a hailstorm raging as I write!) but the College is looking beautiful and spring has (probably) arrived.

We have a busy term planned, kicking off with Holding Space, a symposium grappling with issues around gender, power and culture in Homerton, Cambridge and in HE broadly (22 April); a Wellbeing Fair (30 April) and a variety of other events to come (May Week and the Homerton Ball are just around the corner…).

For most, of course, this term is about grasping the opportunity to demonstrate the wealth of knowledge gained, and work invested, throughout the academic year. It can be a tricky time – challenging and demanding. Hold faith in your ability and be kind to yourself: eat well, sleep well and take quality, regular breaks. Take advantage of the various wellbeing offerings (biscuits in the Library, or canine-therapy in the JCR…?) And see the pastoral team at College (your Tutor, the Wellbeing Team, Porters and the Senior Tutor Team), as well as your DoS, as resources for support and advice. We are your team.

We hope that spring becomes balmy and that the promise of summer is realised. But whatever the weather, have a great term and remember that we are here to support you, to listen to you, to work with you – and to celebrate with you.

Georgie
