The Way I Work - Privacy and Confidentiality

Students

As the College Wellbeing Lead, I am part of the Wellbeing Team. For the team to work as effectively and efficiently as possible, I work within ‘team confidentiality’ in order to best support you. This means that if and when I believe it would be beneficial to share information within the pastoral team, I will. This may be to help me to best support you, or because I believe having other members of the pastoral team involved in supporting you, would be in your best interest.

HOWEVER, if you do not consent for me to share with the team, please make me aware of this. I will endeavour to honour privacy, although if you or others are at risk, I will be required to break confidentiality. If I was required to break confidentiality, I would inform you of this, if possible before doing so.

Staff

Anything discussed with me will be kept private and confidential unless you or others are at risk.  In that instance I would be required to break confidentiality. Alternatively, it may be that you give permission for me to share information and act upon our conversation, in this case I will gain your consent before I take any action.
