The Homerton Singers, conducted by Dr Douglas Coombes, is a group for anyone and everyone, no matter how experienced (or not) or whether a music-reader (or not). All are welcome for a weekly session of simply enjoying making music with others of a like mind, letting go of everyday cares and concerns and re-setting emotional, spiritual and physical clocks once a week on a Monday evening in the Great Hall (7.30–9.15pm – doors open at 7pm). Yes – singing is good for you, and you are assured of a warm welcome!
Members include students and staff of Homerton College, as well as visitors from the immediate locality and beyond.
We sing a wide range of music – from folksongs (especially arranged for our forces), songs from the shows, melodies from the classics, carols and works which allow us to combine with other choirs of all ages. The Singers perform in the Homerton College Music Society end-of-term concerts and other events throughout the year.
You'll find more information, including how to get in touch, on our Facebook page.
