In this article, Homerton Changemaker, Josh Moreton, reflects on his experience in his year abroad as part of his Arabic and Middle Eastern studies degree. Particularly focusing on his time in Egypt, Josh takes us on an introspective journey on some of the challenges he faced adjusting to life in Cairo, highlighting the chaotic yet intriguing nature of the country, while also providing us the lessons which he learnt from his time abroad.
