I'll be studying History and Politics. I'm interested in the way people live, quality of life- education, health, economic security as well as the way culture develops and how these things and are impacted by the Politics and History of states. I feel very keen to develop my understanding of these ideas and I feel the intensity of Cambridge university will allow me to do so.

Excited to learn

I went to a North West London state school.  In the first year of sixth form we went on a trip to visit Jesus college and I really liked it. Most importantly being in that environment made me excited to learn and study so from there I decided to apply the next year.

I wanted to apply to University of Cambridge firstly because of the strength of the History and Politics course itself. The course outlines excited me and made me eager to learn. In addition to that I really love the city and surrounding area having visited it before. I'm very into cycling too and am looking forward to being able to use the bike to get everywhere!

I'm really excited about coming to Homerton, having come on the open day I love the site- the orchard and modern dining hall in particular are lovely.

Broadening my perspective on the world

I think being able to meet all types of new people and becoming involved in activities I may not previously have had access to, languages and creative writing for instance I would like to become involved in.  Also looking forward to being stretched academically and having my perspectives on the world broadened.

Playing football with Tottenham u21s

In terms of my involvement in football, I have played for probably close to 10 years now. During my A-levels I was balancing going to train with Tottenham u21s 4-5 times a week with my studies which was met with scepticism! It was a challenge as I was travelling a lot and often unable to be physically present at school, but it worked out in the end. If anything benefitted my studies by keeping me focused and organised. It also took me all over the UK which as a politics student was beneficial in getting me out of the London bubble to see what the rest of the UK is like.
