Are you ready to change the world?

Homerton Changemakers are welcoming budding Cambridge entrepreneurs to the launch of its prestigious Catalyst Fund 2024 - opening on 11 March.

On 6 March, an informative ‘pre-launch’ event will enable attendees, from the university and beyond, to find out more about the Fund, learn from an outstanding line-up of industry leaders and network with potential collaborators.

‘Homerton Changemakers Catalyst Fund Development Day and Networking over Pizza and Drinks’ is open to all Cambridge students, alumni, postdocs and also students from other universities in the region. The impressive line-up of speakers includes experts from Cambridge Enterprise  and Anglia Ruskin University as well as entrepreneurs, CEOs and previous Changemakers’ winner Abiel Ma, now CEO of his own start-up Vuala. Registration for this event is essential and the deadline is 26 February 2024.

Dr Soraya Jones, Director of Engagement and Operations said:

“This is an exceptional opportunity for students from all over Cambridge University and beyond to come and find out about our unique Changemakers programme, get involved with the Catalyst Fund and network with some incredible business professionals and academics. The Catalyst Fund has already proven to be a crucial investment for an impressive number of enterprising start-ups, at the point they need it most. And on top of the financial gain these fledgling businesses benefit from extensive support from our Changemakers community.”

A further event ‘Not your regular hackathon-how to use AI for achieving good’ on 11 March will attempt to answer a series of challenging questions about Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). This innovative brainstorming session is led by Changemakers industry supporter TTP, an internationally respected product and technology development firm. It promises to be a lively and engaging event where students will be encouraged to work together to come up with ideas about how AGI can be harnessed for the good of humanity and the planet. It is open to all students from other colleges and universities in the region. No coding required.
