New Fellows and Bye-Fellows inducted

The Principal yesterday inducted three new Fellows and three new Bye-Fellows into the academic community at Homerton College.

Professor Hilary Cremin is Head of the Faculty of Education, Homerton's next-door neighbour.  Her work on dialogue, restorative justice and peace education in schools and communities is internationally renowned.

Mr Ibrahim Jalloh is a consultant neurosurgeon at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.  He is exceptionally highly regarded within his field, and was named young neurosurgeon of the year in 2017. 

Dr Alex Pryce has a deep commitment to enabling young people to access excellent education.  She received a doctorate in English Literature from Oxford, where she was later the Head of Outreach Development before coming to Cambridge in 2019 to establish the new and transformative Foundation Year programme.

Dr Karan Chadda is a graduate in Clinical Medicine from Downing College, and has been a committed and highly regarded supervisor of Homerton’s medical students.  With an outstanding research record, he is also an enthusiastic, patient and gifted teacher.

Dr Aude Rauscent has been a popular supervisor in PBS, Natural Sciences and Psychology papers for four years.  In 2021 she joined the Tutor team as an undergraduate Tutor, and this year she is acting Director of Studies for all of the first year Biological Science students, continuing as a Tutor, and also assisting in Admissions.

Dr Ruth Shaw is a respected academic in physical geography.  She is a valued and popular supervisor of the Homerton first-year geographers.  Dr Shaw also has significant experience in teaching study skills and working with students who have Specific Learning Difficulties and neuro-developmental conditions such as ADHD.

At the same ceremony, Michelle Mitchell OBE, Chief Executive of Cancer Research UK (CRUK) was sworn in as an Honorary Fellow.
