Not your regular hackathon-how to use AI for achieving good

From neural networks ruling the roost in the 2000s to chatGPT, recent years have witnessed an explosive development in Artificial Intelligence (AI). Although we are still far from Artificial general intelligence (AGI) - getting there is a matter of "when" and not "if". How do we create a future alongside AGI? What does AGI mean for human purposes and creativity? What changes do world-leaders and governmental bodies need to make to ensure that individuals, society and the world benefit from AI?

Join us for an engaging interdisciplinary hackathon to brainstorm ideas that can create a world enhanced by AGI where humans can thrive, not just survive. There will be talks and group discussions facilitated by industry mentors from TTP. Students will be encouraged to work together to come up with ideas about how AGI can be harnessed for the good of humanity and the planet. Places are limited, so book early to secure your place. No coding required!

This event is led by our industry supporter, TTP and is jointly organised and supported by Homerton Changemakers and the Homerton Science Society. It is opened to all students from other colleges and universities in the region.

Note: This is part of the Catalyst Fund Development pre-launch events.  If you are thinking of applying for the 2024 Changemakers Catalyst Fund (see info from the previous year:  Changemakers Catalyst Fund), attending this session will also help you to achieve the minimum of five hours eligibility required to apply for the fund ,
