Dr Karan Chadda
Dr Karan R Chadda read medicine at Downing College, University of Cambridge, and graduated with distinction in 2020. He was awarded numerous academic prizes, including Senior Whitby Scholarship for 1st class results. Following medical school, he completed the Academic Foundation Programme in Cambridge and passed Part 1 and Part 2 MRCP examinations, ranking in the top 1%. He is now pursuing a career as a clinical academic in respiratory and intensive care medicine. After being awarded places on the competitive NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship programmes at Birmingham, Cambridge, and Oxford, Karan will be joining Birmingham as an ACF in respiratory medicine. He is currently undertaking a masters in critical care at Queen Mary University of London.
Karan is passionate about teaching physiology and has been supervising physiology to first year medical students since 2017. He is currently undertaking the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education at the University of Cambridge. He was pleased to have been awarded the Excellent Teaching Award by the Higher Education East of England and receive accreditation as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
