Mel Parkin

Changemaker Programme Co-ordinator March 2024 

My name is Mel Parkin, and I am privileged to now be part of the Changemaker Team here at Homerton College. 

My working background has always been in Cambridge, starting at the University Library, followed by the Cambridge Philosophical Society, Cambridgeshire County Council, The Physiological Society, Tribal Group PLC, Cambridge Ahead and the Investment & Property Management Team at Bidwells (mainly College portfolios) and now coming full circle back to the University. 

I am an experienced administrator having been involved in all aspects of this over the years from a Library Assistant, Editorial Assistant, Legal Secretary, Chairman’s Secretary, Office Manager, Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant and Events Co-ordinator. 

My interests and hobbies include Classic Sports Cars – Aston Martin & Lotus (my husband Gary and I have been involved in the marque for over 30 years and were Club Lotus Area Leaders for 23 years and own a Lotus each, I don’t see why the girls shouldn’t have some fun too) Gardening, Baking, Walking and I collect Teddy Bears. 

I very much look forward to my time in the Changemakers Team and to working with colleagues I have already met and those I have the pleasure of meeting in the future.
