Dr Ruth M H Shaw
Dr Ruth Shaw is a geographer with interests across the syllabus, and with specific expertise in physical geography, aquatic and climate systems, and data analysis.
Her own research has included work on coral reefs, riverine systems and freshwater carbon biogeochemical cycles (and statistical modelling of these in response to extreme weather events and under different land use and greenhouse gas emissions scenarios).
Ruth currently teaches undergraduates at Homerton College and at Oxford Brookes University where she also supervises geographical laboratory and field techniques.
She is keen on statistical analyses and modelling of social-environmental systems interactions, and upcoming research will include work on British coastline micro plastics and on pollen samples from the Arabian Peninsula.
