Radical economic change

By Lester Holloway 1min read

A NEW debate about radical economic change at a time of growing inequality and climate crisis will take place next month.

Homerton Changemakers are hosting a panel discussion with speakers including Labour’s former Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell MP.

The Future Economy event, taking place on 9 February, will also hear from artist Deborah Curtis, Creative Director of The House of Fairy Tales and The Great Imagining; activist Frances Rayner from the Wellbeing Economy Alliance; and Dr Juliana Cavalcanti, Homerton Lecturer in Economics.

“The way we organise the economy is crucial to the flourishing of humanity and the planet”, said Dr Robin Bunce, event organiser and Homerton fellow in politics.

He added: “There has never been a better time to consider radical economic change”.

The discussion brings together a panel from the worlds of politics, activism, the arts and academia to discuss big ideas which could lead to meaningful and progressive change.

The debate is in partnership with Homerton’s Project Open Door.
